Hi, I'm Aleks!

About Me

Hi! I'm Aleksander, a 16 year old junior enrolled in the Center for Information Technology at Deep Run High School in Glen Allen, VA. I am generally curious and have many interests, but I am the most passionate about technology, music, and engineering.

In programming, I engage in web development, UI development, and data science, among other projects. My passion for technology is furthered with my fascination for engineering as I use Onshape, a cloud-based CAD software, to develop complex mechanisms that ultimately culminate in full robots. Additionally, I have experience in Fusion 360 CAM, taking designs from the 3D drawing board to CNC manufacturing.

Outside of technology and engineering, I am also an all-state solo performing musician. I have played jazz trombone in an acclaimed pre-college program and classical euphonium, taking lessons from Professor Ross Walter.

WeatherGuru is a sleek and user-friendly weather application developed using pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Powered by Node.js, it provides real-time weather updates for any location, delivering the information in a visually appealing format.

HCPS Transportation

Contributor to the development of the set of applications that connected with the Edulog transportation logistics platform, enabling HCPS students to scan their smartphones to verify boarding and disembarkation from the school bus.

Slapshot

Robot designed for a casual re-run of the F4 CADathon competition. It features an intake that passively centers the pucks, an indexer, and a high-power, variable-angle shooter.

Proposed compact climbing mechanism for 2024 FIRST Robotics Competition robot.

Double Jointed Arm

Double-jointed arm with a variable wrist, tailored for the 2023 First Robotics Competition game, Charged Up. It's versatile, though it does present a bit of a challenge for programmers. 😉

Blockade

Robot designed for the 2018 FIRST Robotics Competition game, Power Up. It effectively picks up power cubes and deposits them into a high 'balance beam' goal using an elevator system. Additionally, it features a buddy climb system that allows it to lift another robot off the ground during the endgame.

Slapdown Intake

Intake designed to avoid the use of a four-bar linkage, thereby simplifying the design and deployment process. It is intended to pick up plastic balls filled halfway with water

Four Bar Linkage Intake

Intake utilizing a four-bar linkage to optimize space constraints. The compact design allows it to be stowed neatly and supports a compact deployment mechanism. It is intended to pick up 7-inch foam balls from the 2021 FIRST Robotics Competition game, Infinite Recharge.
